Reviewing several studies together, it is clear that the ketogenic diet improves blood markers, reduces body weight and waist circumference, and addresses obesity and overweight. Beyond a normal diet, keto produces greater satiety, raising psychological stability and satisfaction. The diet also positively shifts a wide range of appetite-related hormones. Generally, after dieting, people experience the rebound ("yo-yo") effect of regaining weight, because they return to a carbohydrate diet. By contrast, those who follow keto after dieting almost never experience the yo-yo phenomenon.
